Individual Counseling

Today you have taken the step toward a positive path of growth and well being.

As a therapist my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and help you move toward a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in the present.

If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)/Learning Disability Testing

With early recognition and targeted intervention, people with ADHD or a Learning Disability can achieve as well as others can.  It is critical that you are proactive about your learning difficulties.  The sooner you address your struggle, the sooner you can receive appropriate support.

Here are some important ways we can work with you to find out if you have ADHD or a Learning Disability and ensure that you get the necessary help to succeed in college/university:

1. Assess for ADHD and/or a Learning Disability

2. Write a complete testing report to be given to your college/university

3. Include treatment recommendations and suggest learning accommodations

Comprehensive Evaluation Includes:

Testing includes: 1-2 hour psycho-educational interview, 8-10 hours of testing and a 1 hour feedback session to go over results and recommendations.

Psychological and Neuropsychological Testing

A standard psychological assessment typically evaluates general cognitive and personality functioning and is geared toward the diagnosis of psychiatric conditions.

Neuropsychological testing may be necessary for persons with documented neurologic disease or injury (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke) or when an organic deficit is present (e.g., Dementia/Alzheimer’s) and the degree of impairment is uncertain.

Neuropsychological testing further evaluates:

  • Verbal and visual memory
  • Auditory and visual processing
  • Visual-spatial functioning
  • Executive Functioning

Comprehensive Evaluation Includes:

Testing includes: 1-2 hour psycho-educational interview, 8-10 hours of testing and a 1 hour feedback session to go over results and recommendations.
